National Service Scheme

NSS is functional since 2017 and under the programme officer Sr. Nirmala Samuel and Chairperson Dr. Sr. Shila in collaboration with the staff.The NSS is the part of our academic, social and personal life as it is the third dimension of education. It allows the students to actively contribute their services for the cause of community and nation, thus helping them develop their personality, service and attain of a leader of the nation. The motto “Not me but You” reflects the essence of democratic living and upholds the needs for selfless service and appreciation of other person’s view and show consideration for fellow human being.
NSS volunteers work to ensure that everyone who is needy gets help to enhance their standard of living and lead a life of dignity. In doing so volunteers learn from people in village how to lead a good life despite a scarcity of resources.
There are different activities taken by NSS volunteers under two categories like;

The institution is open to the extension activities in co-operation with the staff and students. Through National Service Scheme (NSS) and Red Ribbon Club (RRC), the institution takes initiatives to organizes different outreach programme in the institution, adopted village and district. The institution has organized different outreach programme within these five years like;

  • Swachh Bharat Abhiyaan
  • Awareness Programmes in village
  • Pulse polio awareness programme
  • Right to Vote
  • Awareness programme on HIV/AIDS
  • Say No to Plastic Bags
  • Say No to Tobacco
  • Awareness programme on Health and Hygiene
  • Awareness programme on Literacy
  • Prabhat Pheri

  • The Institution organized Blood Donation Awareness programme cum Blood Donation Camp in the year 2019 and 2022.
  • In the year 2019, 22 units blood were collected and given to blood bank of Sadar Hospital. And in the year 2022, 16 units blood were collected.
  • Under the section of RRC, the NSS volunteers took active part in generous sharing with the thought of give life to others.
  • These are the activities taken and practiced by the institution, so that student teachers may have better experience of life ahead. They may understand the problems of the community and have sense of responsibility towards the nation.
