MASTER OF EDUCATION (M. Ed.)

1. Objectives:

1. To enable the students to be innovative teachers.
2. To enable the students to take interest in research work in education.
3. To equip the students for responsible position in:

a. Secondary/Higher Secondary School
b. College of Education (B. Ed.)
c. DIET and
d. Institutions engaged in Educational Research, Educational Planning, Educational Administration.

ELIGIBILITY FOR ADMISSION

a) At least 50% marks or an equivalent grade in the following programmes.
- i) B. Ed.
- ii) B.A. B.Ed., B.Sc. B.Ed.
- iii) B.El. Ed.
- iv) D.El. Ed. with an undergraduate degree (with 50% marks in each)
b) 5% relaxation for ST/SC/OBC/PWD

HOW TO APPLY

Application forms may be issued from the College Office or downloaded from the college website. It should be duly filled in by the candidate and submitted to the office along with relevant document.

SUBMISSION OF APPLICATION FORMS

Photocopies of the following certificates (not typed / attested copies) should be attached to the application form:

1. Matric / ICSE / CBSE pass certificate.
2. Matric / ICSE / CBSE mark sheet.
3. Intermidiate / +2 mark sheet.
4. Degree mark sheet from the University.

Plesae note: marks from the cross list will not be accepted.

5. M.A. / M.Sc. / M.Com. mark sheet if available.
6. College Leaving Certificate.
7. Caste and Income Certificate (for S.T./S.C./B.C. Students).

ADMISSION PROCEDURE

1. Matrriculation Certificate, Intermediate Mark sheet, Graduation Mark sheet.
2. B. Ed. Mark sheet / Degree/ Provisional Pass Certificate.
3. Character Certificate from the college, last attended.
4. College Leaving Certificate from the last college attended.
5. Caste Certificate (online) if applicable.
6. A letter from the Head of the institution to support the claim of teaching experience (if applicable).

*Candidate will appear for written Examination based on B. Ed. syllabus and interview. All relevant Original Documents must be available with the candidates at the time of interview.

FEE STRUCTURE

1st Year :

First Installment - Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only)

Second Installment - Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only)

Grant Total (1st year) - Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rs. One Lakh only)
2nd Year :

First Installment - Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only)

Second Installment - Rs. 50,000/- (Rs. Fifty Thousand only)

Grant Total (2nd year) - Rs. 1,00,000/- (Rs. One Lakh only)

Note: The installments will be paid through D.D. in favour of Ursuline M. Ed. College, Lohardaga, payable at Lohardaga or through RTGS.

AT TIME OF ADMISSION

The Candidates will be required to submit/show the following original certificates in the office:

1. College Leaving Certificate
2. Migration Certificate (Applies only for outside Ranchi University students)
3. Original Caste Certificate(if SC/ST/OBC)
4. Four copies of the recent passport size photo
5. Course Fee: First installment by D.D. in favour of Ursuline M. Ed. College, Lohardaga, payable at Lohardaga or through RTGS.

DURATION

The duration of course is 2 years (4 Semesters) including field attachement for minimum 4 weeks and research dissertation. Students must be prepared to attend classes, seminars, tutorials, counselling etc. daily from 10:30am to 4:00pm.According to the NCTE regulations the trainees must attend minimum 80% of all theory Courses and 90% for the Field Attachment. Urusuline Women's Teachers' Training College expects them to attend all classes.

MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION

Medium of Instruction will be both in English and Hindi. Examinations can be written either in English or Hindi.

HOSTEL FEES

Seat Rent – 7000/- (annually) Mess & Other Charges – 2100 (montly) .

SCHOLARSHIP

The college provides scholarship in accordance with the guidelines set by the Government of Jharkhand on the Jharkhand scholarship portal. These scholarships are offered to the students who are applying for admission in the college.

Following scholarship information is divided according to the merit, social category, and type of course the student is enrolling in:

Scholarship for Social Categories –

Applicants from OBC, SC, and ST can apply for scholarship under this program on the basis of their annual family income. The students get scholarship if their family income is lower than ₹2.5 lakh for SC/ST and ₹1.5 lakh for OBC. The applicants are required to submit the income tax certificate and the caste certificate that is duly signed by the tahsildar under authority.

Scholarship for Meritorious Candidates –

Students with 85% or more marks in the HSC/SSC examination are eligible for scholarship under this program. Scholarships are offered either in bulk at the start of the graduate program or in-parts before the start of each term. The university also offers special concessions to the candidates that belong to the economically backward sections of the society.

Scholarship Information – List of Documents

Following are the list of documents that the candidates need to submit to apply and avail scholarship through AISECT University Jharkhand:

Attested copy of caste certificate that is duly signed by the Tahsildar
Original copy of income certificate that is duly signed by the Tahsildar
Attested copies of the SSC and HSC marksheets
Attested copies of the final year marksheet if the candidate is applying for postgraduate courses
Printed and completed Online Application Form from Jharkhand Scholarship Portal
Attested copy of domicile certificate
Copy of bank passbook with clearly visible IFSC code
Attested copy of the Aadhar card

PAYMENT & REFUND POLICY

Online/Offline Payment Refund & Cancellation Policy

In most cases, no refund will be granted once the payment is done. However, exceptions may be made based on the following circumstances:

Multiple payments for same services. A candidate paid the fee online but did not get the confirmation due to connection failure and the University is not able provide softcopy of the Fee Invoice. Transaction fees charged would not be refunded/ reversed for any refund or reversal of any transaction.

Note: For online payments, it is important for candidates to note the transaction number and order no. for future reference and request for any type of refund, for whatsoever reason, will be at the sole discretion of the University.

Terms and Conditions

No Fees is refunded in following cases

Case of non-performance
Attendance below specified level
If candidate is expelled in case of some discipline issue
In case a candidate is found to be non-eligible or not following any rules and regulation specified by the institution in the Students Guidelines and Students declaration form during any stage of the admission process or course delivery, his/her admission will stand cancelled.
If student’s admission is cancelled or he/she is terminated based on any ground.
In all matters concerning admissions, the decision of URSULINE WOMEN'S TEACHERS' TRAINING COLLEGE, LOHARDAGA, JHARKHAND, shall be final and binding on all the candidates.
